Still leading the League after 46 games is Kärpät with 101 points. Blues is on the second spot battling with Jokerit as after 46 games Blues has 89 points and Jokerit has 88 points. Pelicans is fourth with 87 points after 48 games.
The game between JYP and KalPa was also a celebration for hockey in Jyväskylä. Exactly 60 years earlier the first official hockey game in the city.
The Ice Hockey Magazine and the League have selected forward Ryan Vesce from HIFK as January's player of the month. Vesce will be rewarded on 14th February when HIFK meets Ässät.
Philips and the League have selected HPK's forward Jari Sailio as January's young player of the month. He will be rewarded on 12th February when HPK plays against Lukko.
Transfers of the week:
KalPa and forward Mikko Laine have terminated Laine's contract concerning the end of this season and the next entire season. Laine's next employer is HC Tiroler Innsbruck from Austria.
KalPa's forward Jani Tuppurainen has transferred to Sweden, where he will play for Färjestad BK.
Forward Mikko Peltola and Ilves have annulled Peltola's contract as his next destination is Sweden's Örebro in the first division.
HPK has signed head coach Jukka Rautakorpi for the next two seasons.
Jokerit announced signing American forward Matt Hussey to their line-up. His first game was on Friday when Jokerit played against HIFK.
Blues has signed Canadian forward Jeff Szwez for the rest of the season from AHL Syracuse Crunch. Szwez played his first game against Kärpät on Saturday.
Defenceman Ossi-Petteri Grönholm has signed a contract for the rest of the season with Sweden's Frölunda Indians. The last three and a half years Grönholm has played in SaiPa.
Defenceman Tero Konttinen tranfers from Ässät to TPS as Konttinen signed a contract for the rest of the season.
Forward Aki Uusikartano will join TPS from HPK for the rest of the season.
Blues and Tappara have traded two players. Defenceman Kimmo Pikkarainen heads to Tappara as forward Niko Nieminen joined Blues.
Defenceman Mikko Mäenpää will play in Sweden's Skellefteå for the rest of the season. Mäenpää will return to HPK for next season.
HPK's defenceman Olli Korkeavuori transferred to Ässät for the rest of the season.
Czech defenceman Jan Novak has transferred to Slavia Sparta Praha from Kärpät.
Pelicans is getting a Canadian forward Robert Guillet from Graz to their line-up.
Sweden's Luleå is getting three players from the League; Canadian defenceman Nick Kuiper from Ässät, forward Emil Lundberg from HPK and Blues's goalie Jere Myllyniemi.
