Three exciting local games were seen during the week; HIFK met Jokerit twice and Tappara played against Ilves. Jokerit and HIFK both one game and Tappara won Ilves.
One of the week's thrilling games was on Wednesday when Pelicans and Blues battled for the third place leading to Pelicans win.
Forward Marko Jantunen from Pelicans played his career's 400th game on Thursday when the team met Blues.
The League decided on Wednesday that the play-offs will be played with four referees. Also four last weeks of the regular season will be played with the same system.
Transfers of the week:
HIFK has signed Czech defenceman Lidor Ustrnul for the rest of the season as enforcement to their defence. Ustrnul is transferring from Czech where he was playing his third season in Karlovy Vary. This is his first time to play in the League.
SaiPa's head coach Heikki Mälkiä has been discharged from his contract. Assistant coach Ari-Pekka Selin will be the head coach for the rest of the season.
Czech forward Jakub Koreis joined the roster of Ilves for the spring. He trained with Ilves last summer, but due to renewed knee problems he did not join the team earlier.
Goalie Jaakko Suomalainen has been rented to JYP from Kärpät for the rest of the season.
SaiPa and forward Gregg Johnson have exterminated Johnson's contract for the rest of the season in mutual understanding. His new destination is in Germany where he will play for Frankfurt Lions.
HPK announced three new players; goalie Timo Lindström for the time being, forward Jussi Makkonen from TPS for the rest of the season and defenceman Toni Kirèn at least until the end of January.
Kärpät has signed four new players. Two of them are from HPK; goalie Andy Chiodo and forward Jonas Andersson. Two of them are defencemen, one of which is Kari Haakana who is joining the team after playing the early season in Sweden's Skellefteå. The other defenceman is Juho Jokinen who was playing in TPS.
Forwards Carlo Grünn and Pentti Nöyränen have transferred from Blues to HPK. As a replacement from HPK, Blues is getting forward Pasi Tuominen.
Forward Toni Häppölä will be playing the rest of the season in Switzerland HC Lugano. He transferred from Ässät.
Ilves announced that forward Henrik Malmström will be playing the rest of the season in Slovenian Akroni Jesenice.
Defenceman Matt Nickerson's new team for the rest of the season is Ilves. He transferred from Ässät.
